Scientists at St. Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, discovered that men with sweet tooth are prone to testosterone reduction. As part of their study they observed the effect of glucose on testosterone level in 74 men.
It turns out that the consumption of 75 grams of glucose lowered testosterone level by 25% practically in all participants regardless of whether they had damaged tolerance to glucose or had first signs of diabetes. In 15% of the participants, testosterone level dropped significantly.
The scientist recommend men to have less sweets if they want to maintain their sexual health.
