Modern men rate food as their top priority. Asylum reports that such surprising conclusion was made by Australian scientists after conducting a special study.
Ten thousand Aussies were surveyed through the experiment. They were given a test to determine their coefficient of pleasure; the participants had to answer some questions regarding the level of pleasure they receive from different activities. Food topped the list followed by personal activities, and relaxation came third. Surprisingly, sex did not make it even in the top ten.
The researchers believe that Freudian perspective can help explain such distribution of preferences. Perhaps, men fall back into childhood and associate the wife with the mother feeding them.
However, psychologist David Haynes, one of the authors of the study, notes that when the participants were directly asked “What do you like better – sex or food?”, they had difficulty deciding.
