Quitting smoking is contagious, as in spreading fast across population. Scientists from Harvard School and California University in San-Diego came to this conclusion after holding an experiment with 12000 participants. As is turns out, quitting smoking becomes a trend and spreads fast across the society. This tendency, in fact, is really good for people’s health.
When one of the spouses quits smoking, the chance of the other one to keep on smoking is automatically reduced by 67%. A friend quits smoking – chances of his friends to keep smoking go down by 36%. In the case of a small company worker quitting smoking, the probability of his colleagues to keep on smoking is in turn lowered by 34%. Scientists state, that the closer you are to the quitter, the higher the probability of you quitting the habit yourself.
