Aspirin is going to become one of the remedies for breast cancer, claim experts at U.S. National Cancer Institute. According to the findings of a recent study involving more than 127 thousands women, regular aspirin intake reduces the risk of breast cancer by 13% and in case of an existing tumor aspirin reduces the likelihood of the relapse.
Scientists claim, that aspirin blocks the enzyme that produces estrogen in women. So, if the tumor is hormone dependent (so-called estrogen positive cancer), aspirin can be very helpful. This form of breast cancer takes place in 75% of all breast cancer cases every year. Unfortunately, there’s no evidence, that aspirin could be also effective in the treatment of other types of cancer.
