Forbes magazine is known for its love of making lists. This time, the prestigious publication presented to our attention ten most highly paid models, most of whom belong to the “divine creatures” of Victoria’s Secret. This year, the girls have been working hard and earned a total of more than 100 million dollars. Bravo!
1. Gisele Bündchen
The first place (not surprisingly!) was once again taken by a Brazilian diva, Gisele Bündchen, who added the impressive $45 million to her fortune last year. The top model works with many well-known brands, including Versace, Esprit, and Pantene. She repeatedly appeared on the covers of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Marie Claire. Tireless Giselle also designs and develops her own collections. Recently, she introduced the spring-summer collection of clothes and became the face of David Yurma jewelry.
2. Kate Moss
The “silver” was taken this time by the legendary “British she-wolf” Kate Moss, who still remains one of the iconic models of the world. She has contracts with Longchamp, Mango, Rimmel, and Vogue Eyewear. This year, Moss has earned a “modest” sum of 9.2 million dollars – compared with Bündchen.
3. Natalia Vodianova
Natalia Vodianova is on the third place. The model, “whose name may be less familiar” to American readers, according to Forbes, nevertheless earned 8.6 million dollars. Perfume contracts with Guerlain and Calvin Klein Euphoria, and cooperation with the lingerie brand Etam helped her to enter the top ten of the most successful models.
4. Adriana Lima
The honorable fourth place belongs to Adriana Lima. The supermodel earned 7.3 million dollars over the past year. Although the majority of earnings come from the collaboration with the Victoria’s Secret brand (Adriana has been the “Angel” from 2000), she also works with other brands like Donna Karan and Mavi Jeans. Lima is having a deserved vacation now – the 30-year-old model expects a second baby.
5. Doutzen Kroes
The fifth place belongs to another Victoria’s Secret “divine creature” – Doutzen Kroes, who has expanded her bank account by 6.9 million dollars. She is also working with L’Oreal and Tiffany & Co. The young mother has recently been honored with a wax figure of the model at the Madame Tussaud’s Museum.
6. Alessandra Ambrosio
The sixth place is given to Alessandra Ambrosio (with 6.6 million dollars). Her resume includes contracts with Victoria’s Secret, Pink Line, the Brazilian Colcci brand, and the jewelry brand Vivari. The supermodel has just recently become a mother once again. Congratulations!
7. Miranda Kerr
The seventh line is for Miranda Kerr, who earned 6.6 million dollars. The model appeared to be in the highest echelons of the fashion business by signing a contract in 2008 with Victoria’s Secret. She remains one of the most popular “angels” till nowadays.
8. Lara Stone
The Netherlands model Lara Stone has occupied the eighth place ($3.8 million). She was noticed by the “scouts” of the model business, when she was only 12, and then Stone signed a contract with Elite Model Look at the age of 15. Today, Lara has contracts with Versace, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Prada, and Mercedes Benz.
9. Carolyn Murphy
The ninth place remains with Carolyn Murphy ($3.5 million). The model has been the face of Estee Lauder since 2001, and she is also collaborating with Ann Taylor Loft and Tom Ford.
10. Candice Swanepoel
The Forbes list ends with the youngest model – Candice Swanepoel (3.1 million dollars). Collaboration with Victoria’s Secret has helped her gain recognition in the global fashion industry.
Where Is Heidi Klum?
Do not be surprised at not having found the last year’s “silver” winner Heidi Klum in the list. Although the 39-year-old supermodel earned about 20 million dollars over the past year, Heidi, in the opinion of the publication, has finally left the list of “simple” models and has become a widely known media person, like Tyra Banks. She runs her own shows on TV, such as Project Runway and Germany’s Next Top Model and is engaged in her own design projects.
