Lady Gaga Says It’s Not Cool to Have Sex, Is She Starting an Anti-Sexual Revolution?

Once again, we can see a marked difference between art and life. Lady Gaga with her sensuous and provocative songs and Stefani Germanotta with her celibate private life may seem to be two different persons – but they aren’t. Going by her recent interview to the Daily Mail, Stefani Germanotta is taking over Lady Gaga as the famous singer urges her fans to be independent as concerns sex life.

Lady Gaga Is Single

“I’m single right now,” the 24-year-old young woman explains, “and I’ve chosen to be single because I don’t have the time to get to know anybody. So it’s OK not to have sex, it’s OK to get to know people. I’m celibate, celibacy’s fine.”

She is so happy with her present mode of life that she is talking of celebrating the joys of celibacy with her fans.

The thing Lady Gaga is sure of is that she has a responsibility to her fans, a feeling – in her opinion – every normal public figure must cherish. “When you’re in the public eye, you’re a role model whether you want to be or not,” she shared, adding that it doesn’t all boil down to the music. And she personally takes on the responsibility gladly and has messages to impart to her admirers.

The message is a bit hackneyed, true, but “be yourself” wasn’t very often applied to leading a celibate life. Too often, she claims, girls think it’s cool to have sex. But actually it isn’t so cool, Lady Gaga concludes, it’s much better to be “strong and independent.”

“You don’t have to have sex to feel good about yourself, and if you’re not ready, don’t do it. And if you are ready, there are free condoms given away at my concerts when you’re leaving!”

Maybe that’s why she is at present deeply involved in Mac’s Viva Glam campaign supporting HIV and AIDS projects the world over.
