Maybe it’s always been Taylor Swift for Joe Jonas – and maybe it will always be she.
Jonas, 22, and Swift, 21, had a high-profile affair back in 2008 that was abruptly ended – according to Swift – with Jonas’s 27-second phone call and a surge of bitter feelings that were even carried onto stage.
Now, as Us Weekly had it from several sources, the two are contacting each other again trying to find the road back. A source close to the Fast Life artist says that Jonas has changed and is keen on proving this to his ex-girlfriend. “He … would love to see what’s possible between them,” the source claims.
Having come unstuck, both singers poured their hearts in songs. Swift wrote Forever and Always as a one-sided story of their breakup, and indulged in taking a shot at his post-split girlfriend Camilla Belle with Better Than Revenge. Jonas’s Much Better mentioned superstars with tear-stained guitars. But it seems that these musical jabs at one another are a thing of the past which they both want dead and gone.
A source close to Swift said they are looking forward to “rekindling an old flame,” though for the time being the artists are only putting out feelers to see how much they bond. On September 1 Jonas even put in an unheralded appearance at Swift’s sold-out concert in San Jose, Calif.
