Australia to Fight Smoking the Radical Way

Australian authorities are planning to pass a law that would ban to indicate the name of the manufacturer on cigarette packs. The packages will no longer represent logos, and the packs themselves will be olive green. Also, they will display the photographs demonstrating the consequences of smoking.

The authorities expect that these measures will reduce the number of smokers in the country. If the bill is passed, Australia will become the first country to venture such a radical step.

Tobacco manufacturers are outraged by the suggested innovations. In their opinion, the design of the package will not affect the statistics of smokers.

Previously, similar measures were suggested in New Zealand, Canada and Britain, but they were not put into practice.
