Hilary Duff, 22, and her husband of less than a week standing, hockey player Mike Comrie, 29, finally tied the knot last weekend in Santa Barbara, Calif. The couple, whose relationship has been lasting way back from their Idaho resort meeting in 2007, decided to make it official this year.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Hilary Duff signed a prenup before she gave herself away. An inside source says that with the love they have for one another it is “just a technicality” and “a totally amicable agreement”.
Mike Comrie comes from a family of a Canadian big-time appliance and furniture tycoon whose fortune is reported to be something like $500,000,000. So Comrie’s wooing was nothing if not lavish. Duff’s 20th birthday gift was an astonishing Mercedes-Benz G-class SUV; her engagement ring was rumored to cost about $1 million.
But money hardly comes into the picture – UsMagazine quotes Duff saying that they enjoy a natural relationship of two busy professionals. Comrie referred to their relationship as “fun”. “We both live such different lives, but it’s always fun to support each other,” he shared.
