Last week Heather Locklear’s indulgence in alcohol and drugs resulted in her being carted off to hospital after she had taken a large doze of both.
On Tuesday she turned up for an L.A. Lakers match in fair form, but two days later she went to pieces. Entertainment Tonight reported that, finding the 50-year-old actress unable to control herself, her sister called 911 and had her placed in Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center.
The rep for the hospital confirmed this to PEOPLE, adding that Locklear was discharged after spending a day at Los Robles and brought home to be cared for by the family. Locklear’s rep hasn’t volunteered any information on the emergency so far.
Actually the premonition that the actress may need a rehab pretty soon was sounded by a source close to the family but recently as the source said at the show that drugs had made Locklear “a different person.”
This regrettable occasion is sort of repetition of what happened a few years back. In 2008 Locklear’s doctor dialed 911 upon her manifesting suicidal tendencies. Later that year she checked into an Arizona clinic in an attempt to alleviate depression and anxiety.
PEOPLE then quoted a source who said the actress spent days on end in bed every week when hung over and hanging out when bouts of depression set in.
In November last year Locklear had a split-up with her fiancé Jack Wagner, and ET hinted that her ever inebriated state was the chief reason behind the end of the engagement. However, Wagner, when discussing it with PEOPLE at the end of November, put it down to the pull each of them experienced from their families. “It’s not realistic in the near future to meld the two families,” said he referring to Locklear’s life with her daughter Ava, 14, and his own life with two sons. According to him, the decision was intended to take the edge off the pressure and let them go on loving each other without shouldering additional responsibilities.
Meanwhile, the actress’s parents, Bill and Diane Locklear, affirm that the state of things can in no way be esteemed critical. Commenting on Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center’s official statement of Friday they said there was no danger and no reason for concern.
