Aaron Johnson achieved quite a lot at his 19 years. Not only he has his latest picture, the superhero thriller Kick-Ass, running a box-office number one, but he has met the love of his life, and the couple is already engaged and waiting for a newcomer to the pack.
While he’s acquiring new fans who admire the heroics of his hero, Dave, and are glad that Dave and his girlfriend Katie finally hooked up, Johnson is planning to marry British filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood, who is 43 and older by 24 years. Refusing to be nonplussed by the fact, Johnson assures that actually he is “an old soul and she’s a young soul.”
Mother of two children by her previous marriage, Taylor-Wood is now on her seventh month bearing her third child by Johnson due this summer. The young actor claims to be “excited” at the prospect of becoming a father, adding that he is already chalking up experience acting as a stepfather to his fiancée’s daughters, Angelica, 13, and Jessie, 3.
The couple first met at the shooting of the biopic Nowhere Boy, where Johnson played young John Lennon and Taylor-Wood was the director. By that time (2009) her marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling had already been dissolved. They took to each other immediately, moved to live together and became engaged at a fair speed. But what’s in tarrying if one is so much in love? “I’ve got a wonderful woman,” says Johnson. “She’s lovely and she’s a fantastic mother.”
