Last December, as Ashton Kutcher displayed to the Internet world his Italy vacation photos featuring screenwriter Lorene Scafaria, the official version had it they were no more than friends. Well, the official version was wrong!
The relationship between Kutcher, 34, and Scafaria, 33, goes back a longish time, as PEOPLE heard from a source. The Two and a Half Men star, who separated from his wife Demi Moore four months ago, appreciates Scafaria’s talents greatly and “is impressed with her brain,” according to the source.
The impressive woman, hailing from Holmdel, N.J., does have points to her credit in all areas of life, like –
- Big screen writing was the set-off of her career – in 2005 she stepped into limelight as the author of the screenplay for Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, a romantic comedy based on the eponymous book by David Levithan.
- She is known as a musician with two albums on iTunes – Garden Party and Laughter & Forgetting, released in 2010. A year before her song “28” sounded in the closing credits on Whip It!, a Drew Barrymore movie.
- Last year she also had an actor for a boyfriend – Adam Brody, 32 (O.C.). They were first spotted together at the Scream 4 opening in April.
- Scafaria’s a budding director who turned out a romantic comedy featuring Keira Knightley, Steve Carell, and her ex-date Adam Brody. It is called Seeking a Friend for the End of the World and hits the theaters in June.
- She’s started playing around with her hair color recently, changing her habitual brunette version to strawberry – which she displayed along with cute makeup at a laser tag party in Los Angeles in March. Things are moving faster this year – how much due to the new boyfriend?
