The scientists from the University of California say that 70% of people in the world do not know how to brush their teeth correctly. They carried out a study, and the results surprised them: one in ten people suffered from tartar.
Physicians remind that proper tooth brushing helps prevent cavities, tartar, and gum disease. How should we brush our teeth correctly? According to the scientists, a toothbrush should be kept at the angle of 45 degrees. When brushing your teeth, do not make rapid and long movements and do not exert strong pressure on the gums (it can make the gums recede and cause tooth sensitivity). The movements should resemble sweeping – from the gum to the edge of the tooth. It is necessary to brush both jaws from the inside and outside this way. Particular attention should be paid to the back teeth.
When brushing the surface of the back teeth (this is the final thing to do while brushing teeth), the brush should be held vertically. The whole procedure takes 2-3 minutes. One should change the brush at least every 2 months, and each time after having a cold.
