A recent online survey conducted in the UK showed that the habit of taking a laptop, a tablet computer or a smartphone to bed not only reduces the time of sleep, but also has negative impact on sexual activity.
The survey involved 2,000 British adults. The results were as follows: 15% of the respondents said that the habit of “surfing the internet before going to sleep” had led to the fact that they were less likely to have sex. Nearly 50% of the respondents reported that they fell asleep just about midnight because of the computer in bed, while 10 years before, their sleep had begun at 22:30.
25% of the respondents browsed web pages in bed, and 15% preferred to watch movies or TV shows. The only exception is older respondents, who are still reading a book in bed.
The survey confirmed the study conducted by the researchers at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which had previously published shocking facts about the impact of electronic gadgets on sleep and sex. According to the results of the survey conducted by TeleNav, about 30% of the Americans preferred to give up sex in favor of smartphones. Doctors believe that it is time for the list of diseases to include a new one – gadget addiction.
