Lady Gaga’s moment of weakness has been filmed, showing the hit maker drenched in tears backstage as she was getting ready for a show at Madison Square Garden in New York.
In the scene, which is intended for a video documentary covering her Monster Ball tour, the sobbing Gaga opens up about periodical onsets of self-doubt that smite at her and leave her completely spent.
The Born This Way singer shares: “I still sometimes feel like a loser kid in high school” – the feeling she has to battle every morning, reminding herself of her achievements and her high-profile status so she could bring down the blues and face the new day.
What is the reason behind these attacks? The artist can’t shake off the feeling that there are people who are out for her blood. And she gives her message to those who would like to see her destroyed that she won’t be destroyed. For she has a “kingdom” made up of her fans that is there for her and that is indestructible.
And there are other people who keep misjudging her for a manufactured artist because they are unable to see beyond Gaga’s wigs, outfits and make-up. They “shut down” instead of trying to understand.
So it’s an ongoing fight for the stage queen, a fight that she is involved in “for every kid like me who felt like I felt and feels like I still feel.” There are times, the Fame Monster artist continues, when it’s very hard for her to see herself as the music icon she is and it’s no longer enough for her to know she’s a winner for herself: she feels she has to be a winner for all of her fans.
The latest jab at her was comments that accused her of borrowing the theme for Born This Way from Madonna’s hit Express Yourself (1989). Lady Gaga snapped back that after the amount of music she wrote there was no need for her to try and put across such a gross swindle.
