The parents of an underage girl are suing the TV presenter and model Tyra Banks for $3 million.
According to the girl’s mother, Beverly McClendon, the organizers of the television program The Tyra Banks Show violated her daughter’s right to privacy by allowing the underage girl in the edition of the show dedicated to sexual addiction. The program was about three unwanted pregnancies of a girl and about the fact she may have contracted sexually transmitted infections.
The 15-year-old McClendon had responded to a request on the show’s website seeking for participants. She was invited to shoot in New York and paid for her appearance before the cameras. Her mother claimed her daughter was put on television without her permission. The adults are afraid that the girl’s personal life may attract the attention of pedophiles and other potentially dangerous individuals. The girl’s mother insists that the family is compensated and also asks the court to bar the episode on sexual addiction The Tyra Banks Show from ever being aired again on television or online.
