Maybe Russell Brand has a thing for singers? Anyway, now he is trying to put his marital misfortunes out of his mind (his divorce becoming effective in July) with a really spicy one!
According to the UK’s The Sun Brand, 37, has struck up relations with Geri Halliwell of Spice Girls. They were even caught on a film as the British comic showed up backstage alongside the Ginger Spice, 40, and the rest of the Spice Girls at the Closing Ceremonies for the London Olympics on August 12 when the band delighted the audience by a reunion concert. Halliwell, Melanie Chisholm, Melanie Brown, Victoria Beckham, and Emma Bunton looked perfectly topping!
There is also their recent date pic in London’s Hampton Court Palace accompanied by Halliwell’s 6-year-old daughter Bluebell.
Asked by the Hello! magazine about the changes in her love life, the It’s Raining Men singer confirmed the liaison, but added that she wouldn’t be giving any details and for now it shouldn’t be taken very seriously.
She was late in embarking on romantic life, Halliwell recalls, and began to date when she was into her 30s, but now she confesses to enjoying the intimate relations of “having somebody to cuddle.” She also means to set a good example for her daughter and adopt a healthier lifestyle, as is known from sources close to the singer.
Brand spent part of the summer dating Isabella Brewster, Dallas star Jordana Brewster’s younger sister. But, as a close source informed Us Weekly, they had split, and the comic went to London for the Olympics “and is traveling for standup.”
Katy Perry, Brand’s divorced spouse, has been trying to make it with John Mayer for about a month of seeing each other, but it seems to have crumbled down. A source close to Perry said that she is trying to make it out as a light affair, but is actually hurt by the failure to bond.
