The Twilight saga brought Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart together, and Twilight producer Wyck Godfrey is hoping and praying they stay this way for years to come and certainly until the century’s blockbuster has been completed. Should they happen to split, the movie’s atmosphere may be irrevocably ruined – and there are two more films to come.
Talking to Time, Godfrey said that the final book of the saga, Breaking Dawn, will be made into two movies, and the production of the first of those is to begin in a matter of months.
So he keeps telling to himself: ‘Wow, they have to portray this love story through two more movies. God, I hope they stay together; please stay together.’”
Godfrey voiced a mild surprise that the stars’ love affair is still very much in the limelight. He has long gotten accustomed to Pattinson and Steward’s romance ripening into a steady relationship. “I think we’re heading to that place where they are together and that’s their life,“ he concluded, adding that this news grew stale long ago and the mass media should have moved on to somebody else in search of the drama.
Meanwhile there is a question of rating the oncoming Breaking Dawn which will tell about the marriage of Pattinson and Steward’s characters, with Bella giving birth to a child.
It is expected to get an R-rating, but Godfrey believes it’s best to play down the tone of the novel in an attempt to avoid the rating and make the movie suitable for audiences of all ages.
