On June 19, monarchs from across the world came to Sweden. This event has been long waited for. We saw the first royal wedding in two years – the older daughter of the King Carl XVI Gustaf and the Queen Silvia, 32-year-old Princess Victoria, got married to her personal trainer, a gym network owner, Daniel Westling, 36, who will be titled the Prince Daniel, Duke of Vastergotland.
More than 950 royals and dignities were invited to the royal wedding in Stockholm. The wedding ceremony was held at the Stockholm Cathedral. Victoria was accompanied by the youngest European princes and princesses. Traditionally, the bride was escorted up the aisle by her father, the King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf.
The wedding was guarded by more than 5,000 soldiers and guards coupled with 2,000 policemen. The sky above Stockholm and the central part of the port was closed. The event cost 20 million of Swedish krona.
Victoria met her husband who was born and raised in the middle class family in Sweden, in a gym eight years ago. Daniel became Victoria’s personal trainer. In February 2009, their engagement was announced.
