Oprah Winfrey had her father in Vernon Winfrey, her mother’s ever-present boyfriend, and even regarded him as her biological father for a time. When she learned otherwise, she instituted a search in 2003, although she went on looking on Vernon as the father figure.
Her search via the National Enquirer unearthed one Noah Robinson Senior, Navy World War 2 veteran and farmer, who has been trying to get through to her since that time to arrange for a paternity test. But – to no avail.
Telling his story to the New York Post, he said he had sent her a letter with his Social Security number, a photo from his Navy days and a handful of remembrances from way back when. His letter elicited no answer.
Now the farmer is 84 years old, in a rather bad way and spending his last stretch in a rural VA hospital. Once again he is clamoring to meet his alleged daughter before he passes away.
“I’d like her to call me,” says Robinson. “I’m her real father. I haven’t seen her since she was a kid. She was a little bitty thing.”
He claims he isn’t out for his share of Oprah’s money but purely for a last heart-to-heart meeting with his daughter.
Yet what he called his dream may not come true – the famous talk-show host isn’t available for comments, her spokesperson says.
