Last week’s Britain’s Got Talent performance was marked, among other things, by Miley Cyrus acting out a spot of a lesbian show with a kiss – an incident blown out of all proportion, as the singer is inclined to think.
In her comment published on her website the artist of the provocative song and video clip Can’t Be Tamed addressed her fans with a plea to disregard the hullabaloo played up around the alleged kiss.
Cyrus’s version of the happenings runs like this: “I performed ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ this week on one of my favorite shows here in the UK Britain’s Got Talent. Which is totally true, there were some amazinnnggg acts (but of course no one could focus on that.) I had such a blast and was so honored to be on that stage. That being said during my performance I supposedly ‘KISSED A GIRL’ and this is the newest thing to cause controversy. I promise you I did not kiss her and it is ridiculous that two entertainers can’t even rock out with each other without the media making it some type of story.”
The teen idol went on to say that with so many important challenges facing the world it is ridiculous to try and make issues out of nothing while the entertainers are striving to entertain best as they can. It is all being done by people trying to be negative while the world needs a little more peace and love.
“I feel like the entertainment industry has become nothing but a disgusting tabloid,” concludes the singer, expressing her hopes for her fans’ support and understanding.
Get over “ignorant rumors” and let’s move on, urges Cyrus.
