Singer Katy Perry was overwhelmed when she won the Best International song award for her single I Kissed A Girl at the NRJ Awards in Cannes. However, later she had to return the award since, apparently, she received it by mistake as they placed the wrong name into the envelope. Whose award was it after all?
Rihanna with her song Disturbia was the actual winner. The ceremony’s French host Nikos Aliagas apologized to the audience and admitted that they made a mistake. He cleared that Katy Perry was not the one who was supposed to receive this award, but Rihanna was. He furthermore said that they hope that Rihanna and Perry won’t get extremely upset over this story, and also apologized to the fans who voted for them.
