It is well known that Karl Lagerfeld has a ready tongue: he has criticized many celebrities, including John Travolta and singer Adele. However, the German fashion designer still regretted calling the latter fat and apologized.
But Lagerfeld did not learn the lesson and continued his unflattering comments about the celebs’ appearance – this time about Duchess Catherine’s sister Pippa Middleton.
According to The Sun tabloid, Lagerfeld first expressed his opinion about the Duchess Katherine:
“Kate Middleton has a nice silhouette and she is the right girl for that boy. I like that kind of woman, I like romantic beauties.”
A week ago at the opening of his boutique in London, Lagerfeld showered compliments on Duchess Catherine, defending her style, which many critics consider quite boring:
“She knows pretty well what to wear and what to do. She has a divine silhouette so she can wear anything. She has a sense of what’s right for the moment because you can not dress like a mad woman in those situations.”
However, according to Karl, Catherine and Pippa are not alike:
“On the other hand, her sister struggles. I don’t like the sister’s face. She should only show her back.”
The 28-year-old Pippa’s numerous fans will not agree with Karl’s opinion, as the British journalists have awarded her the title of Her Royal Hotness.
Once Heidi Klum came under fire. It is rumored that in 2009 the designer said the top model was “too heavy” and “had a big bust” so that she could not walk on catwalks.
But Lagerfeld has favorites, including Victoria Beckham. The designer admires the mother of four children:
“She is great. I like her a lot. I have known her for many years. She had a career as a singer. She has a beautiful husband and stunning children and now she makes a career in fashion. And that body, after four children. There are not so many who have a body like that. She is very disciplined. “
Despite his sharp comments, the fashion designer is still respected and loved by many celebrities including Keira Knightley, who expressed her admiration for Lagerfeld in a recent interview. Could she be sorry for her words after a while?
