Hardly had UsMagazine announced the news that Jessica Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey is eventually going to walk the aisle with Vanessa Minnillo when Simpson came up with a piece of news that she, too, has got her man of dreams proposing to her!
Simpson, 30, and Lachey, 37, decided to call it a day five years ago after living together for three years. Will the year 2010 mark a new milestone in both their lives?
Simpson is clearly about to settle down in a new relationship, as was manifested last Saturday at Dillard’s at Oak Park Mall in Kansas City by an impressive ring adorning her left hand.
On the following day Us received the conformation from Simpson’s rep that she is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson with whom she had been dating since May. Now that Johnson’s divorce from his ex, stylist Keri Johnson, was finalized in September, he didn’t seem to have waited long to show his feelings.
And it was in September that the Texas-born singer called Johnson as “a wonderful man” in her Twitter message and said she was lucky for meeting him.
Now they are officially a couple, Johnson and his family are following Simpson to New York for Thanksgiving where the Come on Over singer is to perform at Macy’s parade. “We’re going to see how that all splits up,” she shared with Ryan Seacrest over KIIS-FM radio interview, adding that she will be missing the sight of her nephew opening his gifts.
