Asia’h Epperson, 21, a prominent figure of American Idol’s seventh season, was questioned at the LAPD’s Hollywood Division at the early hours Thursday. She and her sister were taken in from a Hollywood nightclub where they engaged in a fight with another girl.
The official information (RadarOnline) has it that around 2 a.m. PT Thursday police were called in to the Colony Club on North Cahuenga Blvd. to sort out a girl scuffle. Asia’h Epperson and her sister, Erin Falkner, fell out with a girl who allegedly jumped the bathroom line, and after mutual accusations came to blows.
The victim was taken care of by paramedics who arrived at the club; she is reported to have sustained but minor injuries that did not necessitate her hospitalization.
According to the police, the girl means to press for charges, although it still has to be decided whether there will be any charges brought against Epperson and Falkner. For the time being charges are pending and the sisters were released after 6am PT without having to post a bail. Both of them will have to appear in court upon a fixed date.
Epperson, born Joplin, Missouri, was remembered for her soulful cover version of Diane Warren-penned ballad How Do I Live (performed by LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood) at the audition in Atlanta, Georgia, only two days after her father perished in a car accident. She became a semi-finalist before she was finally eliminated on March 6, 2008 upon rendition of I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston.
Recently interviewed by Missouri radio station Kissin 92.5, Epperson spilled she was working on a debut album for the high-profile Def Jam label.
