Many girls like to sprawl out in the sun, reckless of protecting their skin. Of course, sunlight is good for us to a certain extent, and sunscreens protect the skin well enough, so sunbathers are encouraged to stay longer in the sun in hope of a bronzed tan. But how do we know when it’s time to retreat into the shade? A new swimsuit was developed in Canada to provide protection from “post-tan” problems by warning of excess UV light.
How the New Smart Bikini Lets You Know It’s Too Much Sun
Innovative swimsuit is no more than a regular bikini decorated with beads of plastic that can change their color depending on the intensity of UV emission. Exposed to low or medium emission, the beads are of white or lavender color. Abnormal rate of UV emission makes the beads glow deep violet, alarmingly indicating that tanning should be ceased.
SmartSwim UV Meter Bikini
Here’s another variant of the same idea: a high-tech silver colored SmartSwim UV Meter Bikini. It has a LED UV meter built into the belt, which also shows if it’s time to stop sinbahting. The LED UV meter is solar powered.
SmartSwim Bikini Already Available
A spokesperson for Solestorm company that launched the line of “smart” swimsuits says even though people are now more conscious of all the harmful influences of environment, and UV light in particular, the demand for new swimsuit exceeded all expectations. SmartSwim Solar UV Index Detector Bikini of Solestrom retails for $100. And the price of SmartSwim UV Meter Bikini is $190.
