According to a study published in British Medical Journal, women who had normal weigh between 18 and 50 years old and were not obese at 50 are more likely to maintain their health by the time they reach 70.
Scientists examined the health of women who celebrated their 70th jubilee. They look at the link between weight at different ages and diseases developed over the time. They found that women who were obese at 50 were 79 percent less likely to enjoy their health at 70 compared to 50-year-old women with normal weight. But the most important were weight changes between 18 and 50 years old. The more pounds women pack on during their midlife, the less likely they are to be healthy when old, according to scientists.
Nevertheless, researchers say it’s never late for a woman to lose weight. Even a few lost pounds can reduce the risk of various medical conditions after the age of 70.
