Do you buy a bronzer spray as a safe alternative to the sun? Frequent use of such products can cause serious health problems.
The composition of aerosols includes the substance called dihydroxyacetone, which can damage DNA and subsequently cause the formation of tumors, when it gets into the lungs and then into the bloodstream. The researchers from George Washington University have warned that the chemical can also trigger asthma and other lung diseases such as emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
To reduce these risks, the fans of bronzers are recommended to reduce the frequency of using sprays and remember about the safety equipment: filters for the nose, lip balms, and sunglasses. The employees of beauty salons, who provide the self-tanning service, may also get affected.
