How do we wash our hands properly? Many of us do not even think about it. Meanwhile, doctors say that the vast majority of people do not know how to wash their hands correctly.
Scientists at Michigan State University conducted a survey involving 3,749 public toilet users. It was found that 15% men and 7% women do not wash their hands after using the toilet. Most visitors prefer not to wash their hands if the washstand is dirty.
78% women use soap each time they wash hands. With the men, the rate is less than 50%.
Only 5% people wash their hands properly and thoroughly enough to destroy all pathogenic germs.
Only one in twenty properly washes hands after using the toilet. The vast majority spends an average of 6 seconds for the procedure, while it requires 15-20 seconds to soap hands, wash them under running water and wipe with a clean towel in order to destroy harmful bacteria
How do we wash our hands properly?
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States advises us to wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. The vast majority of people spend not more than 6 seconds on this.
