People, who have over-indebtedness, are more likely to suffer from obesity, according to German scientists. Researchers from the University of Mainz studied the questionnaires of 949 people who were on the list of persistent defaulters.
They found that over-indebted people suffer from excessive weight and obesity more often compared to the others, by 1.97 and 2.56 times respectively. According to researchers, debtors simply assuage their worries related to the lack of money by overeating. Moreover, according to statistics, over-indebtedness prevails among people with lower income who are less inclined to healthy eating and tend to have bad habits.
