A group of American women have sued the Maybelline brand. The claims concern the unrealized promises of the brand, since their advertising promised a lasting effect of lip glosses and lipsticks.
The female consumers in the United States are very disappointed with the Super Stay 10HR Stain Gloss and Super Stay 14 HR Lipstick. The women believe that these products do not meet the stated characteristics.
The lawsuit states that Maybelline exaggerates and distorts the resistance of its products for lips, to encourage consumers to purchase them. This violates the law on the protection of consumer rights in the states of Michigan and New Jersey, and in New York (where the lawsuit was filed).
However, the lawyers believe that the women do not have great chances of winning the case and getting the right for compensation. The fact is that it is difficult to prove whether the women used the resistant product correctly. The brand does not guarantee resistance, if you bite your lips, eat, kiss and so on. And with none of these effects, any lipstick, and not only Maybelline Super Stay 14 HR Lipstick, will last for 14 hours.
