The Magic Chair by designer Davide Conti looks quite simple at first, like all magic things – a perfectly simple cubic design of black or white, the right piece for those who go for classic minimalism in furniture.
The magic about it is created by an optical illusion: when one looks at the chair from the side, it seems as if it was standing on one slender leg. This precarious effect appears because the chair is maintained by supports made from transparent material.
Another point about the Magic Chair is it looks too frail to bear any solid weight, but in fact it’s quite sturdy and will serve its purpose.
