Fashion week should surprise – it’s a fact. But while some are surprising, others are shocking. Thus, Paris fashion week made us wonder at very unexpected hairstyles that at times distracted the audience from the outfits demonstrated.
Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean-Paul Gaultier adorned his models with short wigs – so that their own hair was visible, too. The idea of the designer and the stylists was to show a cocky punk style.
Haider Ackermann
Haider Ackermann’s show was not without punks, as well. The spiky white strands reminded us of the characters in “Arthur and the Invisibles” by Luc Besson.
Givenchy
The fashion show by Givenchy pleased the viewers with very short wigs in acid colors – pink and purple – with tight neat curls.
Junya Watanabe
Junya Watanabe also used curls, but on longer hair, and not as smooth and homogeneous.
Rick Owens
Someone focuses on the make-up, and someone – on the hair. Only this fact can explain the “Gone with the Wind” hairdo by Rick Owens. The models’ faces were almost imperceptible because of the luxuriant hair.
Af Vandervorst
On the catwalk at Af Vandervorst’s show, the faces of the models were almost completely hidden from the audience. Only bright lips were showing from under super-long and thick bangs. We hope that the girls had at least a good view of the catwalk.
