Jimmy Choo’s Fall/Winter 2011 ad campaign has started, taking us back to the glamour world of the 70ies. In images thick with the luring atmosphere of the French cinema of the decade the campaign attempts to recapture the enticement of such past-day icons like Charlotte Rampling, Catherine Deneuve, and Veruschka, well-remembered for their suave charm.
In his first collaboration with Choo fashion photographer Steven Meisel set to work on the collection’s face Raquel Zimmermann on the time-honored venue of the Waldorf Astoria in New York. The photos bespeak a clandestine romance with a woman that looks inscrutable and subtly subversive.
The collection, also harking back to the cinematic past, includes men’s shoes and other items as well as women’s shoes, purses and handbags.
