Statistics show that more than one third of U.S. adults are obese and almost 70% of Americans are overweight. Scientists continue to debate about weight loss, choosing the best products and diets, offering simple recipes to get rid of extra pounds.
Out of sight, out of mind
Scientists at Cornell Institute of Food Science found that moving sweets a few meters away, you will noticeably reduce their consumption. During the experiment, the sweets were removed 6 meters away from the table at which the study participants sat. This resulted in 48 % reduction of sweets consumption.
Sleep
Stable sleep helps to stabilize weight. Studies have shown that if the sleep duration of the study participants varied more than 90 minutes, this resulted in the deposition of fat, particularly in the lower part of the body. Poor sleep quality, sleeping less than 6.5 or more than 8.5 hours per night also contribute to weight gain.
Slimming diary
Scientists at Duke University observed the women participating in weight loss programs. Every day they received a message reminding to report the results of weight loss. Depending on the results achieved, the experiment participants received a message with advice and information. Such communication helped women lose weight more effectively than traditional weight loss diaries.
