American Beauty, Spun, and American Pie star Mena Suvari is starring in a new movie You May Not Kiss The Bride. The actress arranged with a director that she wouldn’t do bed scenes because she is going to get married and her groom is dead set against shots involving nudity. A body double was found for Suvari, but the woman was slimmer than Mena so the actress has to lose some weight now.
Mena told in her US Magazine interview about the filming that once she saw her body double she protested because the substitute was so skinny. Even if shots don’t show her face, the women have totally different bodies.
Yet the body double named Daniella Frita would stay on the film set, while Mena is now bound to lose weight to match her backup.
What makes things complicated is that Mena Suvari is pleased with her body and never planned on getting slimmer. Moreover, she thinks that Daniella looks too skinny. Suvari’s groom, a record producer Simone Sestito got very upset about the situation, too.
Simone bitterly said that it were stand-ins who were supposed to look like actors, not the other way around and suggested Mena leave the filming.
But Suvari is not going to lose the role because of a few extra pounds. The actress says that she currently has to skip her workouts and take on a low-carb diet.
The 30-year-old actress, who is proud of her well-built arms and abs, explains her dieting principle as follows. Fat weighs less than muscles, and Daniella is so skinny because she has little muscle mass. That’s why they have totally different bodies. Now Mena has to take on a low-carb diet that strikes at muscle mass.
Mena reveals that over the past 25 years she has been keeping herself in shape by doing yoga and cardio exercises. So now she has to pick up a muscle mass reducing diet to lose weight.
Mena told US Magazine that she always preferred workouts to dieting, and her well-shaped body can prove that. She has developed her body over the years and always thought that dieting was just an easy and short-term way to get fit. She chooses healthy ways to keep herself in shape. Mena encourages doing yoga and swimming. You simply won’t need any diets if you do that.
