Robert Pattinson’s reputation has become the cause of the latest Twitter clash between Twilight fans and actor D.B. Sweeney who called Pattinson a “douche.”
The actor, recently engaged in filming K-11 written and directed by Kristen Stewart’s mother Jules Stewart, raised his voice in defense of Kristen whose reputation suffered after her love affair with director Rupert Sanders had come into light. He wrote that seeing Pattinson’s appearance on the Daily Show he wondered why his girlfriend hadn’t left him long ago “with this douche astride her.”
He further intimated that the “skinny vampire” wasn’t worth getting into a state over.
It triggered off an instant avalanche of messages from Twilight fans eager to put the 50-year-old back in his place, telling him they hated him for picking holes in R-Patt whose greatness exceeds his own by far.
A follower wrote that Sweeney looked like “someone pissed off a bunch of 13 year old girls and 45 year old single women with a cat collection!”
The actor, apparently delighted at the indignant reaction, jabbed at twi-hards (shortening them to “tards”) for their language.
D.B. Sweeney is best remembered for starring in the Cutting Edge and appearances on The Event and Jericho.
