Eurovision 2009 final was three days ago, but we do remember about this music contest, as we hear the songs that were performed on the stage of Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Russia, on the radio pretty often. One of the songs made popular due to Eurovision is “Always” by AySel and Arash who took the third place ...

It finally happened! Today we all followed the fantastic Eurovision 2009 final. There were amazing performances, the decorations provided by New York-based set designer John Casey looked stunning. The fact that the stage was made up of various types of LED screens made each show look absolutely different and unique. It was beautiful! There were many really catchy songs at Eurovision 2009. The truth is, if ...

Today we were happy to enjoy the second semifinal of Eurovision 2009. And we would like to share the results with you. The second semifinal sounded even more exotic than the
first one (let’s take Estonia, for example). There were more “folk” performances (Moldova in their national costumes).

Today I’ve found one more song prepared for Eurovision 2009. It’s Georgian entry this time. The artists are Stephane and 3G. They will sing the song called "We Don't Wanna Put in". In the media this song is said to poke fun at former Russian president Vladimir Putin (hinting at last year’s war in South Ossetia). But I’m not going to talk about politics. I can say the following: with this pretty primitive music and these lyrics with a rather obscure meaning they hardly have a chance to win at the Eurovision, considering the fact that the contest will take place in Moscow.

In yesterday’s music post I shared a wonderful song of Icelandic singer
Jóhanna Guðrún. Today I’d like to share one more beautiful song composed for Eurovision 2009. The name of the song is “Time” and the singer is Grafa from Bulgaria (the real name is Vladimir Ampov). As usual, I like the version in native language of Grafa, it sounds much more natural and thousands times nicer. This is why I’m posting two variants of the song. The initial song in Bulgarian is called “Vrag” (“Enemy”), I can’t understand the lyrics, but I believe, the lyrics differ a lot from the English version. Anyway, the song is so cool, I like the beat and the music video. Enjoy!

Jóhanna Guðrún is a singer from Iceland who will sing a beautiful romantic song named “Is It True” at Eurovision 2009. Jóhanna has a great silk voice. And I really wish her good luck at Eurovision, because she deserves to win.

Today here’s the Spanish entry for Eurovision 2009 – a song called “La noche es para mí” (“The Night Is for Me”). The singer is Soraya. This song gives so much energy, it’s catchy and it sounds pretty exotic. Than you for singing the song in this beautiful language, Soraya (except for those few phrases in English)! Like it! I’d vote on it.

Here’s another song we will hear at Eurovision song contest 2009, and this time from Germany. Alex C. and Oscar Loya will present this country with their song “Miss Kiss Kiss Bang”. I like the style of the song, it’s catchy. And I hope, they will share a better quality of it on YouTube soon. As for me, the song is still a bit too flippant. With all my love to Germany and German culture, I don’t actually think it will win, although, maybe, when I see the show they have prepared I’ll change my mind. Last year Germany wasn’t very good at Eurovision. Hope, it’s not going to become a tradition.

I decided to go on and share the songs that will be heard at Eurovision 2009. Today here’s the band "De Toppers" from the Netherlands. They hope to impress Eurovision 2009 audience with their song "Shine". To be honest, I don’t like such songs very much, they have a bit too much pathos, if you get what I mean. This one sounds old-fashioned, too. Well, maybe, it’s just the quality of the sound in that video. Well, good luck, "De Toppers"!

"Düm Tek Tek" means "Crazy for You" and is the name of the song which Turkish singer Hadise will sing at Eurovision song contest 2009. As for me, I like Turkish songs in Turkish language more (although I don’t speak it), but this song is good anyway. Hope, they will add more interesting (more dynamic) dancing movements to Hadise’s contest performance, and some more traditional costumes would make it nicer. It could be made really beautiful! I would vote on Hadise.

You already know the artist who is going to present the
UK at Eurovision song contest 2009, today you can find out the artist and the song which are the best in Denmark and deserve to perform at Eurovision this year. It’s Niels Brinck with the song called "Believe Again". Less and less artists and bands have the courage to sing in their native language at international song contests. I think in this case both the song and the artist are good. Niels Brinck has all chances to win Eurovision 2009.

If you saw last year’s
Eurovision contest you probably remember that Russian singer Dima Bilan won. This means that the Eurovision 2009 will take place in Moscow, Russia, and I will be pretty soon: 1st Semi-Final - on May 12, 2009, 2nd Semi-Final – May 14, 2009 and Grand Final - May 16, 2009. So, European countries have been preparing for the song contest for the whole year and today we can already know who is going to present the countries at Eurovision 2009. Here’s the song called "My Time" by Jade who will present the UK with this song. Both the song and the singer are good, but I don’t think the UK will win. It’s a pity, Eurovision never has real results - best singers with best songs and performances rarely occur “best” on Eurovision. Geography, politics and history play the most important parts in Eurovision (so-called "block voting"). But still, you can enjoy the beautiful song and the lyrics below.
