This is the conclusion of the Spanish psychiatrists from the University of Zaragoza. As shown by their study, which involved more than 400 people, dull office routine is more likely to lead to the “burnout” of the expert than a nervous, stressful job.
Officials and office workers, primarily men, are the most susceptible to “boredom burnout”. The risk is the highest for men who have been working in the same place for 16 years or more. Psychiatrists believe that it is especially important for the employees who face the risk to have a strong family and many friends: active and happy social life insures against the burnout by allowing people to switch away from the office and forget about the job completely.
