The 501st model of the iconic American Levi’s jeans have celebrated their 140th anniversary! Over the years, the jeans brand (just as any denim clothing) has undergone many changes, but the 501st model is still considered the most successful and popular.
It is next to impossible to believe that jeans were born as a uniform for the workers. Only half a century after their creation, jeans became the clothes for fashionistas.
The 501st model has been worn by celebrities of different years.
In the 1950-s, those were Marilyn Monroe and Marlon Brando. In the 1960-s, it was Brigitte Bardot, and in the 1980-s and 1990-s – George Michael, Bruce Springsteen, Cindy Crawford (she appeared in the 501st model in the advertising of Pepsi).
Today, the 501st jeans are worn by the trendsetters like Rihanna, Alexa Chung, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Richie.
