Karl Lagerfeld is set to create fashion lines affordable to the general public. It was Lagerfeld who became the first designer to launch an affordable clothing line for Swedish label H&M in 2004.
In his recent interview, the designer revealed his plans to gear his own brand toward a mass market while creating haute couture lines exclusively for Chanel and Fendi. Obviously, Lagerfeld wants to go beyond designing clothing for celebrities, extending his influence over all fashion market segments.
Karl Lagerfeld also announced his collaboration with Hogan, a part of shoes empire, Tod’s. The designer will create an affordable line of shoes, clothing and accessories for Hogan by the 2011 spring/summer season.
