The famous Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferré, looking for the most feminine figure imaginable for promoting their spring/summer 2010 campaign, took on Dree Hemingway as their face. Creative directors Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi commented that they expect Dree to express perfectly the notion of female freedom and fearlessness that will be in keeping with the collection’s main concept.
The photographs are ready, done by Dutch photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. They are in black and white to best accentuate the “light fluid fabrics, alternating volumes and fine asymmetries” that characterize Ferré’s ideas for the spring and summer of 2010.
Dree Hemingway is great granddaughter of writer and Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway. Prior to the Ferré campaign she presented for Abercrombie & Fitch, DKNY, and quite recently could be seen at Givenchy’s autumn/winter 2009-10 catwalk.
