To be sure that the beginning of the Cannes Film Festival is glamorous, the prominent designer of the Chanel Fashion House, Karl Lanerfild, decided to take the initiative in his own hands and volunteered to do it by himself. He introduced the new Chanel Cruise Collection 2011-12 in the Cap Eden-Roc hotel letting the nature take care of the entourage.
He has chosen the magnificent views of the landscape and the Mediterranean Sea to be the scenery of his collection. The cruise line is made in the spirit of the 1950-s, and is marked by a combination of certain discipline in dress and evident glamour. The talented designer has succeeded in uniting these opposite trends. Tweed suits, slim jeans, straight jackets, wide shorts, sweaters with floral prints, mega-large pockets and many, many other items have become the trend of the season.
The show was also marked by the presence of royal guests – Princess of Hannover. In addition, a lot of celebrities did not fail to visit the favorite fashion house of the show with Blake Lively, Vanessa Paradis, Kliments Roesi, Rachel Bilson, Laura Bailey, Alexa Chung and Caroline Sieber among them.
