Researches from a wide range of US and EU Universities, including University of Leeds, teamed up to create the list of foods that make us younger and prolong our lifespan. The list is based on the latest findings on biochemical mechanisms of cells aging. Each item on the “long-liver’s menu” contains active elements that influence complex biological processes in a positive and effective way.
Among the items are such powerful antioxidants as dark chocolate, tea and coffee. They are rich in polyphenols that are able to restore damaged cells and extend their life.
Apples, black currant, blackberry, broccoli, sweet cherry, tomatoes, oranges and whole grain bread are also on the list. After completion of studies, scientist point out that meat, fish, milk and grains provide us with essential nutrients.
Fruit and vegetables, in their turn, contain biochemical elements that prolong our lifespan.
So add more of the foods on the “long-liver’s menu” into your diet, if you want to live longer.
