This one has been coming on for some time, and it finally happened. Zara Phillips, the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, and her rugby union player fiancé Mike Tindall tied the knot. The wedding took place on June 30 at Canongate Kirk church in the Scottish capital. As Us Weekly heard from an inside source, the church was decorated with white roses against beech tree branches background.
Phillips, 30, and Tindall, 32, welcomed at the ceremony the bride’s mother Princess Anne, her cousins Prince Harry, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, and of course, Prince William with Duchess Kate. Dressing for the occasion, Kate chose the green Diane Von Furstenberg dress in which she had showed up at a reception held in her and William’s honor earlier in July at British Consul-General Barbara Hay’s place in L.A., which she had altered.
The bride and groom spent the night before the nuptials at a celebration aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. The wedding will be followed by a private reception at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, an official residence of the Queen.
