For Jennifer Hudson the last two years with Weight Watchers marked a huge change in her life! Sans something like 80 pounds she is a different woman now.
The Chicago-born recording artist shows off her new shape proudly on the cover of Redbook’s December issue, saying that she has reached the desired weight. A lot of her friends seem to believe she is still going to shed more pounds, and she has to listen to advice not to – even after she made her decision to stop.
But she has to acquire a new way of seeing herself yet, having long gotten accustomed to wear size 16 clothes. “I keep thinking that I probably need an extra-large or a large and the stylist is like, ‘No, you need a medium or a small,’” shares Hudson with a laugh.
In her pre-Weight Watchers period the singer was hard put to it to find clothes she could wear with a flourish. Finally the problem drove Hudson to initiating a clothes line of her own with QVC. Talking to Redbook she says that she has always looked upon herself as her fashion icon. “No one but you knows what you feel most comfortable in,” is Hudson’s main dressing rule.
Thinking over each item of clothing, the Spotlight singer regards it from the point of view of both “big Jennifer” and “slim Jennifer.” “I want to consider every girl,” she says.
The American Idol contestant and Academy Award winner is engaged to David Otunga, Harvard Law graduate and WWE wrestler; they have 3-year-old son David Daniel.
