What over? Make your guess before looking at the answer: religion and boobs! Did you get it right? Fun for everybody but the parties concerned, isn’t it? The legal squabble was triggered off in September by the former Chief Beauty of California.
Following the loss of her eminent position due to failing to meet contractual obligations in June, Carrie Prejean filed a lawsuit against Miss California Pageant demanding redress for libel, slander, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, public disclosure of private facts, and religious discrimination. You may well imagine the chagrin it caused within the K2 Productions, the production company that runs the pageant.
Upon (assumedly) serious consideration the K2 Productions people decided to hit back. Above the belt, of course!
They filed a cross-complaint aimed straight at the breast.
The cross-complaint demands, inter alia, that Carrie Prejean pay back the breast-augmentation surgery money of $5,200 turned over to her by the pageant. Of course! Some other Miss California may be needing it right now!
The cross-complaint also has its say on the issue of religious discrimination. “Had [Carrie] heeded the guidance of the Gospel of John, who admonished only those who are without sin to cast stones in judgment, she might have avoided this legal battle…”
Leaving the guidance of the Gospel of John out of the picture, Prejean clearly doesn’t find the guidance of K2 quite to her liking…
