This is the fifth year for the highly successful Dior Glossy sunglasses by John Galliano, signposted by the release of Dior Glossy Gold, a limited edition comprising only 500 pairs. They keep up the same vein as the original Glossy collection that was designed as a modern version of the oversized shapes of the 1970s.
The Dior Glossy featuring extra large lenses and a curved frame done in metallic colors sprang to instant popularity being adopted by a number of celebrities.
The new models have a frame that is black on the inside and amber outside and made from Optyl, a trademarked resin that holds shape. The amber sets off dark brown lenses to a nicety.
The temples bear the Dior logo stamped in 18 carat solid gold.
A pair of the new Glossy Gold carries the price tag of $1,295.
