According to BBC, more and more Britons are getting obsessed with healthy eating, worrying health professionals. Past few years have seen a multiple rise in the number of people suffering from orthorexia (abnormal focus on eating healthy foods).
It’s interesting that orthorexic people tend to go into extremes when choosing foods to eat. And then over time, their idea of healthy eating often transforms to the point where it becomes very difficult for them to find the right food. Besides, many of “healthy foods” lack essential nutrients, resulting in shattered metabolism. Common victims of orthorexia are well-educated middle-class members of 30-50 years old.
