These are not your customary urban sceneries, so don’t be scared if your side glance suddenly detects a human figure where it shouldn’t be. You haven’t been mistaken, it’s just a spot or two of urban camouflage, cleverly done by artist Carolyn Roper.
A woman reclining among fruits and veggiess on a stand on Portobello Road, with people maybe ordering painted merchandise off her body… A woman on a seat on a west London bus, people trying to take the seat and shy back… A woman merging into a black cab just where you will hold out to open the door.
Hiding all these women around the town Roper was working to promote Really TV’s show Covert Affairs. Unfortunately, there’s no information as to how many per cent people did notice Roper’s ladies, but as for the UK premiere of Covert Affairs’ new series, they started September 19 and are on on Wednesdays at 9pm.
